their bodies to create the sounds of a rainstorm.

Procedure
-
Brainstorm
with the students the different sounds which can be
heard during a rainstorm.
-
Have
the students sit in a circle on the floor. Start
by having them all rub their hands against their
thighs gently. This will sound like a gentle
rain first beginning. They should then pat their
hands against their thighs very slowly. Everyone
should increase the speed of the pats to simulate the
rain falling faster and harder. Then everyone
should slow down at the same pace to simulate the
rainstorm moving away and getting quieter.
-
Brainstorm
with the class how to make claps and rumbles of
thunder using their bodies as well.
