Objective:
The students will participate in a movement game.

Materials

• A wide, open space allowing for movement.

Procedure

1. Have the students spread out in the open area.

2. Call out different commands, such as "Everyone who has white on their shoes, jump!"  or "Everyone who has Velcro on their shoes, skip!"

3. The students may take turns being the "caller", while the rest of the students follow the directions.

Other Lesson Ideas

1. Brainstorm all the different types of shoes there are, "running, tennis, basketball, ballet, snow, tap, etc."  Call out commands such as, "You are now wearing basketball shoes!"  The students should then imitate movements done when wearing those shoes.
