Art Lesson
for Shoe Day
Objective:
The students will decorate a shoe box
featuring a created shoe.
|
Materials
-
Shoe
Boxes (one per student)
-
Paints,
markers, crayons, etc.
-
Paper
|
Procedure
-
Tell
the students they will be creating their own design of
shoe. It may be any type of shoe they
wish. The design of this shoe should be drawn on
the paper.
-
They
will then decorate a shoe box to advertise their new
shoe. They may use any of the provided art
materials to decorate their boxes.
-
When
their boxes are complete, they should place their
"shoe" in the box.
|
Other
Lesson Ideas
-
Have
the students trace their feet and decorate their shoe
print in any way they wish. These "shoe
prints" may be displayed on a wall as if they are
walking along.
-
In
conjunction with the Language
Arts Lesson, have the students create props,
simple costumes (i.e. elf hats), or poster advertising
the play of the Elves and the Shoemaker.
