Movement
Lesson
for Polar Bear Day
Objectives:
The
students will imitate bear movement.
|
Materials
- A large open area allowing
for movement.
- Designate some of the area
as ocean water and other areas as ice floes. If
possible, use chalk or tape to mark off the floes.
|
Procedure
- Have the students imitate
bear movement. Discuss what it means to
"lumber around". They can move like
bears and "jump" from ice floe to ice floe
without "falling in the water".
|
Other
Lesson Ideas
- Play a game of tag in
which ice floes are "safe zones".
