Art Lesson
for Heart Day
Objective:
The students will design and create a
valentine.
|
Materials
-
A
variety of art materials - paper, ribbon, paint, lace,
markers, etc.
|
Procedure
-
Have
a discussion on homemade objects and how they can be
very special. Direct the students to think of a
special person for whom they would like to make a
valentine.
-
Allow
them to be as creative as they wish in designing and
creating their valentine.

Lesson Ideas
-
Have
the students make posters promoting heart healthy
activities.
-
Have
the students experiment with the colors red and white
to create different shades of pink.
-
Have
the students draw pictures of things they like on a
heart shaped piece of paper. This could also be
done in collage form by having them use magazine
clippings.
