Hat Day

Objective:
The students will act out different occupations.

Materials

• Pictures of hats of actual hats that match various professions
• Open space allowing for movement

Procedure

1. Have the students spread out in an open area.
2. Hold up individual pictures of hats, or the hats themselves.
3. Have the students act out the profession that matches the hat.

Other Lesson Ideas

1. Have the students do the Mexican Hat Dance.  Use the following link for help: Fun Family Activities.  This activity may also be combined with a Social Studies Lesson.
2. Have a parade wearing the hats that are made in the Art Lesson.
