Movement Lesson
for Sun Day
Objective:
The students will create shadows
using different body movements.
|
Materials
-
A
flat top surface outside on a sunny day
-
(If
it is not a sunny day, use a lamp, flashlights, or an
overhead projector and have the students create hand
shadows.)
|
Procedure
-
Instruct
the students to use their imaginations and their
bodies to create a variety of shadows. This may
be a guided activity if shapes or common objects are
called out and the students try to form them in their
shadows.
-
If
doing this activity indoors with an artificial light
source, have the students take turns forming
shadows. The rest of the class may try and
discern what their shadow is.
