Objective:
The students will participate in a relay race.

Materials

• An open area set up for a relay race

• Envelopes (one per relay team)

• Empty boxes (one per team to be their "mailbox")

Procedure

1. Set an area up for a relay race. 

2. Divide the class into equal teams.  Have the teams pass off an envelope as their baton.  At the finish line, have a "mailbox" made from a cardboard box for the students to place their envelopes in.

Other Lesson Ideas

1. Give each pair of students a piece of paper and an envelope.  Instruct them to try and fold the paper and put it in the envelope without using their hands - they may use their elbows, knees, feet, etc.
