Lesson
for Lion Day
Objective:
The students will create a lion
using a variety of art materials.
|
Materials
-
Small
paper plates
-
Pipe
cleaners
-
Construction
paper, yarn, glue, crayons, paint, etc.
|
Procedure
-
Discuss
with the students the different physical
characteristics of lions, their manes, tales, paws,
etc.

Instruct
the students to create their own lion using any number
of the available art materials. The paper plates
may be used for the heads, with yarn or paper fringe
for the mane. Pipe cleaners with tufts of yarn
at the end make good tails. Some students may
wish to construct female lions (which do not have a
mane), or cubs.

Display
the lions on the wall of the classroom or hallway and
label it "Our Pride of Lions."
