Flag Day

Objective:
The students will march in a parade.
 

Materials

• A wide, open space.
• The flags made in the Art Lesson.
• A recording of some "marching music"

Procedure

1. Discuss parades and what they entail.
2. Put on the marching music and have the students form a parade with their created classroom flags.

Other Lesson Ideas

1. Have the students imitate being a flag in different types of wind.  What will they do if there is no wind, just a little wind, or big wind gusts?  How will the wind affect their movement?
2. Play Capture the Flag.
3. Sing "The Star Spangled Banner".
