Art Lesson
for Chocolate Day
Objective:
The students will create a piece of
artwork, using chocolate as one of the mediums.
|
Materials
-
A
variety of chocolate to be used in the artwork, such
as chocolate chips, chocolate kisses, Tootsie Rolls,
chocolate pudding (for painting), etc. To keep
the expense down, allow each child to choose only one
or two pieces of chocolate to center their creation around.
-
Glue
-
Paint,
crayons, markers, etc.
-
Paper
|
Procedure
-
Instruct
the students to create a piece of artwork
incorporating a piece (or two) of chocolate.
Younger students may need a brainstorming session to
get some ideas. For example, chocolate chips
could be used for the eyes on a face, a chocolate kiss
could be the top of an umbrella, etc.
-
Make
the materials available and allow the children to be
as creative as they wish in their pieces of artwork.
|
Other
Lesson Ideas
-
Have
the students experiment with creating different shades
of brown by adding white to dark brown. The
students may then paint pictures using the shades they
have created.
-
The
students may design their own wrapper for a chocolate
bar they have invented. Bring in samples of
chocolate bar wrappers for inspiration.
