Objective:
The
students will imitate the flight of bats.

Materials
- A large open space.
- Music which sounds like flying and gliding through the air (classical may be
best).

Procedure
- Play the music and have
the students pretend they are bats flying through the
air. If possible, play music with both a fast
and a slow tempo to allow for different types of
movement.

Lesson Ideas
- Play a game in which some
of the students are bats and the others are insects
and the bats try to tag the insects.
- Have the students hang
their heads upside down and observe the world from a
hanging bat's perspective.
